After 5 years Capital City Rat Rescue
will be closing its doors effective immediately. This was not an
easy decision and I am sad to announce the closing of the rescue.
I will no longer be accepting
surrendered animals into the rescue unless of course they were
previously adopted from Capital City Rat Rescue. I will always
welcome back adopted rats no matter how long they have been adopted.
It has been a rewarding 5 years but the
time has come for me to devote more time to my family, friends, and
other commitments.
Capital City Rat Rescue was started in the summer of 2006 as I found there to be a desperate need for a place where surrendered rats could stay temporarily until they found new homes. We service Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska as well as surrounding communities. The rescue is run by myself with help from my husband. We are a small rescue run out of our home so we are limited on the number of rats we are able to help. However, we try to help as many as we can.
