Would you like to help out the rescue? You can by becoming a foster home. Foster homes are needed to temporarily house our animals until a permanent home can be found through pet adoption. We do not operate a shelter building, and foster care is the only hope for these animals. We are always looking for good foster homes. Animals are often turned away due to lack of open foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can help.
Capital City Rat Rescue asks that foster families providing their own approved, appropriate cages and accessories (such as dishes, water bottles, and, where appropriate, wheels and houses) for foster use, we rarely have extra cages to provide. However, on occasion the rescue may be able to assist with this if the need arises.
As a foster family you are required to provide only approved bedding and food as instructed by the foster contract at the time of fostering.
As a foster family your job is to provide daily handling of and interaction with the foster rats in a safe and appropriate manner.
Capital City Rat Rescue will provide guidance and support throughout the entire foster process. We will also provide all medical care and cover all approved veterinary costs.
If you are interested in fostering please fill out the foster care questionnaire and Capital City Rat Rescue will be in touch with you as quickly as possible.
